WELCOME
OPENING PRAYER Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love, where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness; joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not seek so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

CALL TO WORSHIP No. 824 v. 3 There is a Place of Quiet Rest
There is a place of full release, near to the heart of God.
A place where all is joy and peace, near to the heart of God.
O Jesus, blest Redeemer, sent from the heart of God,
hold us, who wait before thee, near to the heart of God.
*HYMN No. 401 Here in This Place
Here in this place the new light is streaming, now is the darkness vanished away
see this space our fears and our dreamings, brought here to you in the light of this day.
Gather us in, the lost and forsaken; gather us in, the blind and the lame
call to us now, and we shall awaken; we shall arise at the sound of our name.
We are the young; our lives are a mystery. We are the old who yearn for your face.
We have been sung through out all of history, called to be light to the whole human race
Gather us in, the rich and the haughty, gather us in, the proud and the strong,
give us a heart so meek and so lowly; give us the courage to enter the song.
Here we will take the wine and the water; here we will take the bread of new birth;
Here you shall call your sons and your daughters; call us a new to be salt for the earth.
Give us to drink the wine of compassion; give us to eat the bread that is you;
nourish us well, and teach us to fashion lives that are holy and hearts that are true
Not in the dark of buildings confining; not is some heaven light years a way;
here in this place the new light is shining, now is the kingdom and now is the day
Gather us in and hold us for ever; gather us in and make us your own,
gather us, all peoples together, fire of love in our flesh and our bone.
*CALL TO RECONCILIATION
The proof of God’s amazing love is this: While we were sinners, Christ died for us. Because we have faith in him we dare to approach God with confidence. In faith and penitence, let us confess our sin before God and one another.
*CONFESSION OF SIN
Eternal God, our judge and redeemer, we confess that we have tried to hide from you, for we have done wrong. We have lived for ourselves, and apart from you. We have turned from our neighbors, and refused to bear the burdens of other. We have ignored the pain of the world, and passed by the hungry, the poor and the oppressed. In your great mercy forgive our sins and free us from selfishness, that we may choose your will and obey your commandment; through Jesus Christ our Savior.
Silent Prayer
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Hear the good news! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ, is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know that you are forgiven and be at peace. Amen
*REPSONSE No. 634 v. 1 To God Be The Glory
To God be the glory; great things he has done. So loved he the world that he gave us his Son. Who yielded his life an atonement for sin, and opened the life gate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord; let the people rejoice
O come to the Father through Jesus the Son, and give him the glory, great things he has done.
PASSING OF THE PEACE OF CHRIST
Jesus told us Peace I leave to you, my peace I give to you Let us now offer that peace to all. May the peace of Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you.

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
This is the good news which we have received, in which we stand, and by which we are saved, if we hold it fast; that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day, and that he appeared first to the women, then to Peter, and to the Twelve, and then to many faithful witnesses. We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus Christ is the first and the last, the beginning and the end; he is our Lord and our God Amen.
*HYMN No. 840 When Peace Like a River
When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrow like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot thous hast taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul
it is well, with my soul, it is well with my soul. It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blest assurance control,
that Christ hath regarded my helpless estate, and hath shed his own blood for my soul.
(REFRAIN)
He lives; O the bliss of this glorious thought, My sin not in part, but he whole
is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more Praise the Lord, praise the Lord O my soul
(REFRAIN)
Lord, hasten the day when our faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
the trumpet shall sound and the Lord shall descend, even so it is well with my soul
