Ephesians 2:10: For we are God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do
good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do

Hello! Soon after Scott called and asked me to do this, I started thinking about what in the world I was going to say and then the scripture for a morning devotion was Ephesians 2:10 which says, For we are God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. I thought, “Wow” I have seen so much of God’s handiwork in this church. And then I learned that the stewardship campaign this year is “Together For Joy” which seems so appropriate as we navigate this changing world of ours. There is much about this church to make us joyful together. Our staff is the best. Our officers are committed. We have great music. Our building is beautiful. Many of our members are involved in the work of the church. Our local and foreign mission programs are ongoing. When I think of the saints who have gone on ahead of us and the saints here today, God’s handiwork is all around me.

During my many years as a member of this church I have served as a Deacon and as an Elder. I have been a member of the prayer chain for several years. I am active in the Women’s Association and, of course, the rummage sales. I was in the Pastor’s Bible study, first with Andrew and then with Phil. Now I am very happy to be in the one led by Judy Platt. These are only a few of the ways to get involved. I highly recommend you get involved if you are not already. I, personally, have been challenged, inspired, encouraged, comforted, and prayed for by so many of the saints. And I have tried to do the same for others. These are things we can all do, especially the prayer part. So, I ask you to keep challenging, inspiring, encouraging, comforting, and praying for one another. Keep praying for the work and mission of the church, keep praying for our officers and staff. And, just maybe, many of us can increase the giving of our time, talent, and treasure. For we are God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
Thank You
