CALL TO WORSHIP
L – Precious Lord, take my hand, lead me on, help me stand, I am tired, I am weak I am worn.
A – Through the storm through the night, lead me on to the light; take my hand, precious Lord,
lead me home.
*HYMN N0. 409 God is Here
God is here, as we your people meet to offer praise and prayer
May we find in fuller measure what it is in Christ we share
Here, as in the world around us, all our varied skills and arts
Wait the coming of the Spirit, into open minds and hearts
Here are symbols to remind us, of our lifelong need of grace;
Here are table, fonts and pulpit, here the cross has central place.
Here in honesty of preaching, here in silence as in speech
Here in newness and renewal, God the Spirit come to each.
Here our children find a welcome in the Shepherd’s flock and fold;
Here as bread and wine are taken, Christ sustains us as of old.
Here the servants of the Servant, seek in worship to explore.
What it means in daily living to believe and to adore.
Lord of all, of church and kingdom, in an age of change and doubt.
Keep us faithful to the gospel; help us work your purpose out.
Here, in this day’s dedication, all we have to give receive
We who cannot live without you, we adore you, We believe
*CALL TO CONFESSION
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins,
God who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, In
humility and faith, let us confess our sin to God.
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Merciful God, you pardon all who truly repent and turn to you. We humbly confess our sins
and ask for your mercy. We have not loved you with a pure heart, nor have we loved our
neighbor as ourselves. We have not done justice, loved kindness, or walked humbly with you,
our God.
Have mercy on us, o God, in your loving kindness, in your great compassion, cleanse us from
our sin. Create in us a clean heart, o God, and renew a right spirit within us. Amen
(SILENT CONFESSION)
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Hear the good news. Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ
rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us. Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new
creation. The old life has gone, a new life has begun. Know that you are forgiven and be at
peace. Amen.
*RESPONSE 647 Give Thanks
*PASSING OF THE PEACE OF CHRIST

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
I believe in God, the father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his
only son our lord, who was conceived by the holy ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under
Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell; the third day he
rose again from the dead, he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the
Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in
the holy ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen

*HYMN No. 819 Be Still My Soul
Be still, my soul; the Lord is on thy side, bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to they God to order and provide, who through all changes faithful will remain
Be still my soul, thy best, they heavenly friend through thorny ways leads to a joyful end
Be still my soul, they God doth undertake, to guide the future surely as the past.
Thy hope thy confidence let nothing shake, all now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still my soul the waves and winds still know, his voice who ruled them while he dwelt below
Be still my soul, the hour is hastening on when we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone, sorrow forgot, love’ purest joys restored
Be still my soul when change and tears are past all safe and blessed we shall meet at last
