Our Church

We reach out to members of our own congregation in many ways, mostly through the work of the helpful people who serve as Care Connectors and Deacons.

Care Connectors

The Care Connection program is a way to reach out to members showing them “we care.” We desire to take Jesus’ call to “love one another” seriously, so we try to keep in touch with our whole church family. Our Deacons keep in touch with some of our older or infirmed members. The Pastors offer pastoral care to members with specific needs such as sickness, life transitions, or tragedy. The Deacons and Pastors can’t keep up with all 350 members, so we have a group of Care Connectors who take the time to be in touch with their assigned members. The Care Connectors are church members like you who have agreed to help keep members in the loop and connected to the life of the congregation. If one these folks contact you, it simply means we care!

Deacons

“It is the duty of Deacons, first of all, to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith. They shall assume such other duties as may be delegated to them from time to time by the Session, such as leading the people in worship through prayers of intercession, reading the Scriptures, presenting the gifts of the people, and assisting with the Lord’s Supper.” – The PC (USA) Book of Order
