CHIMING OF THE HOUR

WELCOME

Good morning and welcome to our worship service on this beautiful day our Lord has given us. We greet those in the sanctuary as well as those watching on line. Yes, Pentecost has passed and our colors have changed, but we left the banner up to remind us that the presence of the Holy Spirit is always with us. Let us now prepare our hearts and minds to worship God.

PRELUDE

SILENT PRAYER OF PREPARATION

Great and good God, give us pure hearts that we may see you, humble hearts that we may hear you, hearts of love that we may serve you, hearts of faith that we may live in you, reverent hearts that we may worship you, here and in the world out there, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen

CALL TO WORSHIP

Though I may speak with bravest fire, and have the gift to all inspire, and have not love, my words are vain, as sounding brass and hopeless gain.

Come Spirit come, our hearts control, our spirits long to be made whole. Let inward love guide every deed, by this we worship and be freed.

LET US STAND AND SING TOGETHER

*CALL TO CONFESSION

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. But, if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God.

*CONFESSION OF SIN

Merciful God, you pardon all who truly repent and turn to you. We humbly confess our sins and ask your mercy. We have not loved you with a pure heart nor have we loved our neighbors as ourselves. We have not done justice, loved kindness or walked humbly with you our God. Do not cast us from your presence or take you Holy Spirit from us. Restore to us the joy of your salvation and sustain us with your bountiful Spirit.

Hear again the teaching of Christ A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another as I have loved you, and in that love know that you are forgiven. Amen
