I cannot believe that it is December already; where does the time go? It seems like these past four months since I began my position as the Youth Director, have just flown by. Through the fall, the youth had the opportunity to enjoy various events. We went apple picking, made scarecrows, and they especially enjoyed playing Bingo with the Membership and Outreach Committee at the Greene Building across the street.

In the middle of November, I was able to attend The National Youth Worker’s Convention in Memphis, TN. It was a jam-packed four-day event that comprised of Youth Ministry leaders from all over the country. It was an incredible experience and I learned so much! One of my favorite topics was about how we can continue to “Grow Young” as a church and the various ways to make ourselves attractive to younger generations, while still preserving our traditions and the things that make us unique as a congregation.

As we look ahead to a new year, I am very excited about some of our upcoming Youth Group events. There will be bowling trips, Super Bowl parties, a Senior High retreat, and of course the 30-Hour Famine. I look forward to seeing many familiar faces out at these upcoming events, as well as some unfamiliar ones who are looking for something new.

May God continue to bless you and your loved ones during the Christmas Season and into 2018.

Blessings, Becky Schad
Youth Director
