Worship

The Presbyterian Church at Woodbury WORSHIPS the Triune GOD:

With DIGNITY and REVERENCE for the Mystery of God
With ENERGY and JOY for the Presence of God
With DEVOTION to the Lordship of Jesus Christ
With ORDER to enact the Gospel of Jesus Christ
With EXPECTATION for the Movement of the Holy Spirit
With the ACTIVE PARTICIPATION of the People of God.

In its worship, The Presbyterian Church at Woodbury seeks to
Nurture SPIRITUAL DEPTH;
Foster SPIRITUAL FELLOWSHIP;
And WELCOME worshippers of ALL AGES.

SACRAMENTS – The Presbyterian Church recognizes two spiritual sacraments:

BAPTISM
The Sacrament of Baptism is the sign and symbol of inclusion in God’s grace and covenant with the Church.  Adults, children, and infants can be baptized, but only once.  We administer the Sacrament to any incoming new members who have not previously been baptized and to children/infants at the request of the parents.  Dates for baptism are set with the Pastor.  Parents of the child/infant to be baptized are expected to attend a workshop conducted by the Pastor and/or the Director of Christian Education prior to the baptism.

HOLY COMMUNION
The Lord’s Supper, or Communion, is served the first Sunday of each month.  We have an evening communion service for the observance of Maundy Thursday.  All who are baptized in the Christian faith are welcome at the Lord’s Table, including baptized children.
